Luang Pu Thuad Large-Head Sema Coin, 1994 — Wat Chang Hai
The Luang Pu Thuad Large-Head Sema Coin, B.E. 2537 (1994) is a distinctive collectible from the Wat Chang Hai tradition in Pattani, Southern Thailand. It was created as a commemorative amulet for the construction ceremony of a statue of Luang Pu Thuad at Wat Chang Hai.
The consecration ceremony included Phra Ajarn Nong of Wat Sai Khao, a highly respected monk in the Luang Pu Thuad tradition and a disciple of Luang Pu Thuad lineage, who participated in the sacred blessing ceremony.
This edition features the characteristic Large-Head Sema design, inspired by the traditional Thai sema-shaped medallion. The front depicts Luang Pu Thuad seated in meditation on a lotus base, surrounded by an elegant Thai decorative border. The reverse bears an inscription identifying the commemorative purpose of the issue.
With its detailed relief, traditional Thai design, historical background, and connection to the famous Wat Chang Hai tradition, this medallion is an attractive piece for collectors of Thai Buddhist amulets, Southeast Asian religious art, cultural objects, and Thai souvenirs.
It can also be appreciated as a small piece of Thai heritage and traditional craftsmanship, making it suitable for personal collections or as a meaningful gift for someone interested in Thai culture.
